From September 16–18, 2026, a team from the University of Manchester tested their newly developed device at the Benkovac test site. The field trials took place across the first eight rows of the site, which contains buried antipersonnel mines, antitank mines, and unexploded ordnance. The team evaluated a fully integrated, multi-frequency metal detector (MD) and ground-penetrating radar (GPR) system, including sub-centimetre augmented position tracking. Additionally, they assessed the practical utility of integrated augmented reality (AR) glasses.
