CTRO Successfully Delivers Another EOD 1&2 Training Course for SESU Personnel

HCR-CTRO has successfully completed another EOD 1&2 training course for personnel of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine (SESU), further contributing to the strengthening of Ukraine’s operational capacities in the field of mine action.

The international training course was conducted from 7 September to 2 October 2026 in Zagreb and at the Cerovac Test Site, combining comprehensive theoretical instruction with intensive practical training. The course was designed to provide participants with the knowledge and practical skills required for the safe detection, clearance and destruction of unexploded ordnance (UXO).

Following the successful completion of the final examination, certificates of successful completion were awarded to the participants on 2 October 2026. The certificates were presented by Davor Laura, Head of CROMAC, Directorate of Civil Protection, Ministry of the Interior of the Republic of Croatia.

The training forms part of the Republic of Croatia’s ongoing support to Ukraine in the field of mine action. The donation programme includes the training of a total of 90 Ukrainian deminers – 40 personnel of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine (SESU) and 50 personnel of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine. The programme covers Quality Management, as well as EOD Level 1, Level 2 and Level 3 training.

Through the delivery of this training, HCR-CTRO continues to contribute its expertise and practical experience to the development of Ukraine’s mine action capacities. The programme represents another important step in the long-standing cooperation between Croatian and Ukrainian mine action institutions and reflects Croatia’s continued commitment to supporting Ukraine in addressing the challenges posed by explosive ordnance.
