Visit to Libya
From 13th to 14th January, HCR-CTRO representatives, led by director, Mr. Nikola Pavković, visited the Great Socialist People's Libyan Arab Jamahiriya, and had a meeting with the colleagues from the National Programme for Demining and Land Reclamation.
The Libyan party was led by Mr. Mohamed Aladin Huneish, member of the Board of Directors of the National Programme. The discussions were held regarding the training programme, and it was confirmed that Libyan colleagues will be trained in the Republic of Croatia. This training programme will be defined later by separate agreements.
Director Pavković was received by Assistant Secretary of General People's Committee for Foreign Liaison and International Cooperation, Mr. Mohamed Taher H. Siala. Mr. Siala has once more confirmed a great interest of the Libyan side to cooperate with the Republic of Croatia in the field of mine action.
The Libyan party expressed their intention to participate in the 8th International Symposium “Humanitarian Demining 2011” which is to be held in April in Šibenik.
