SC HCR-CTRO Round Table
HCR-CTRO Scientific Council held the Round Table on Wednesday, 13th of October, at the Europe House Zagreb, on the topic of Contribution of Croatian science to implementation of Article 5 of the Ottawa Convention and to regional cooperation.
The main topic of the Round Table was the presentation of the operationally validated project Deployment of the Decision Support System for Suspected Hazardous Area Reduction. The project was successfully implemented and the system validated in Croatia, and the project is currently ongoing in Bosnia and Herzegovina. In 2011, the implementation of the project is planned in Azerbaijan. The project was presented by dr.sc. Milan Bajić, dr.sc. Hrvoje Gold and mr.sc. Andrija Krtalić.
Dr.sc. Vladimir Knapp gave an overview of the Scientific Council activities since its establishment in 1998. Mr.sc. Nikola Pavković spoke about possibilities of future international cooperation on the above stated project, as well as about possible cooperation in other fields.
ITF Director, Dorijan Maršič, said that the ITF has been providing donations for mine action in Croatia for twelve years and that it is their intention to continue doing so in the future, especially when the projects which yield such excellent results are concerned.
