Participation in the GICHD/UNMAS technology workshop
HCR-CTRO director Mr. Nikola Pavković, participated in the 3rd workshop on technologies in demining, which was held in Geneva from 6th to 8th of September. The workshop was organized by GICHD and UNMAS. The topic of this year’s workshop was Merging Mine Action Technologies and Methodology.
The first two days of the workshop presentations were held, and on the third day a demonstration of demining equipment was organized.
Mr. Pavkovic held a presentation entitled Validation and verification of equipment in mine action. He presented the HCR-CTRO certification activities, and a concept of validation and verification of demining equipment.
In addition, Prof. Milan Bajić, PhD, member of the HCR-CTRO Scientific Council, presented the results of the Decision Support System for Mine Suspected Area Reduction, the project which has been successfully implemented in Croatia, and is currently being conducted in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The presentation raised huge interest among the participants.
