"Humanitarian Demining 2011" Symposium closed

The 8th International Symposium „Humanitarian Demining 2011“ was closed on 28th April with a plenary session and presentation of the conclusions from the workshops. The Symposium gathered 165 participants from 33 countries. This symposium was held under the patronage of the Croatian President prof. dr.sc. Ivo Josipović.

As part of the Symposium, a field demonstration was held on Wednesday, 27th April at Gaj field near Skradin. The following machines were exhibited: RM 03, MV-4, MV-10, VF-100, BOŽENA-5, PT-400, MINI MINEWOLF 240 and a LOCOSTRA tractor; and UM/LOW 150 was exhibited. The VALLON company demonstrated their VMR3 dual sensor, and CEIA presented its metal detectors. A dog training school PIPER demonstrated their work and a MEDIVAC procedure was shown by a team from the Croatian Institute for Emergency Medicine.
Four workshops were held with the following topics: education, safety, differences in clearing mines and ERW; and new methods and technologies. Together with the Symposium, a HUDEM 2011 IARP workshop was held, on 27th April.
