HCR-CTRO in co-operation with BHMAC and ITF, is organising a work-shop
HCR-CTRO in co-operation with BHMAC and ITF, is organising a work-shop “DEPLOYMENT OF DECISION SUPPORT SYSTEM FOR MINE SUSPECTED AREA REDUCTION IN BOSNIA AND HERZEGOVINA”, which will be held on 20th of October 2009 at “Hollywood” hotel, Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina The project is financed through ITF by the US State Department.
The Workshop is a continuation of a successful project in Croatia, which had a goal to prepare a decision support system for mine suspected area (MSA) reduction on the basis of airborne and space-borne multi-sensor images of the MSA, using an advanced data fusion technology. As a result, a proposal for reduction of certain areas in Gospic, Bilje and Drnis municipalities was made, covering from 7.67 km2 to 23.34 km2. Considering very successful results, the project continues in Bosnia and Herzegovina for the requirements of BHMAC, and in the prospective is the continuation of the project in Azerbaijan. The aim of the workshop is to transfer knowledge gained during the project on the members of South Eastern Europe Mine Action Coordination Council (SEEMACC), i.e. to train them on the practical use of the system, with a special emphasis to Bosnia and Herzegovina and Azerbaijan. The workshop consists of two parts: Introduction in Decision Support System (DSS) for mine action managers (one day),
Decision Support System (DSS) in MSA reduction for mine action managers (additional three days for representatives from Azerbaijan).
