EOD Level 1 Training Course

On Monday 9th May, a new EOD training course Level 1 started for candidates from Southeast Europe. The training will finish on the 27th May, and it is conducted by HCR-CTRO and financed by the US State Department through ITF.

This is the third training course of the Level 1 EOD training; the first was held in October 2008, and the second one in April 2009. The training course consists of theoretical and practical parts. Theoretical part of the training is conducted in Topusko, and the practical part at HCR-CTRO Cerovac test site. There are 18 candidates from Croatia, Macedonia, Serbia and Monte Negro.

The idea to organize the training course was suggested at the South East Europe Coordination Council (SEEMACC) meeting held in March 2008., due to a fact that a large part of the region of Southeast Europe, in addition to the mine problem, faces UXO contamination as well, and the Republic of Croatia is a leading country in mine action in the region.

EOD training course Level 2 will be organized in September for those who successfully complete the Level 1 course.
