Symposium "Mine Action 2015" opened in Biograd

The 12th International Symposium and Equipment Exhibition MINE ACTION 2015 started today in Biograd. The Symposium was organized by the Croatian Government Office for Mine Action, Croatian Mine Action Centre (CROMAC) and Croatian Mine Action Centre–Centre for Testing, Development and Training. The Symposium is held under the high patronage of the Croatian Parliament Speaker. The Symposium will consist of plenary sessions, a field demonstration and demining equipment exhibition, with participation of the TIRAMISU project, International Advanced Robotics Programme (IARP) and RACVIAC. It gathered 180 participants from 35 countries.


Welcome addresses was held by Mr. Hrvoje Debač, representative of the Government Office for Mine Action, Mr Dražen Jakopec, CROMAC director, Mr Nikola Pavković, director of HCR-CTRO, Mr Stipe Zrilić, County Prefect of Zadar County, the ambassador H.E. Mr Branimir Mandić, RACVIAC director and Mr Damir Rilje, Croatian Parliament representative and envoy of the Croatian Parliament Speaker, who officially open the Symposium.

On Wednesday, April 29, a field demonstration will be held at the Gaj test site near Skradin. The demonstration will consist of the work of demining machines, helicopter MEDEVAC, demonstration of conditioning of mine detection bees, demonstration of mine detection dogs and demonstration of detection of ERW containing depleted uranium.
